IMX577 12.3MP CMOS Active Pixel Type Stacked Image Sensor

IMX577-AACK is a 7.857 mm diagonal (1/2.3 type) 12.3 megapixel CMOS active pixel type stacked image sensor with a square pixel array. It adopts Sony's Stacked CMOS Image Sensor technology to achieve high-speed image capture through column-parallel A/D conversion circuits and high sensitivity and low noise images (compared to conventional CMOS image sensors) through a back-illuminated imaging pixel structure. R, G, B pigment primary color mosaic filters are adopted. It is equipped with an electronic shutter with a variable integration time. It has three power supply voltages: analog 2.8 V, digital 1.05 V, and 1.8 V for input/output interfaces to achieve low power consumption. In addition, this product is designed for consumer camcorders. Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation does not guarantee the quality and reliability of the product when it is used for other applications. Therefore, do not use it for applications other than consumer camcorders. In addition, since this is a standard product, individual specification changes cannot be supported.

IMX577 camera image sensor FAQ:

1. What is the IMX577 camera image sensor?

IMX577 is a high-performance image sensor, commonly used in imaging devices such as cameras, capable of capturing high-quality images and videos. It has a variety of features, such as high dynamic range (HDR), high resolution, etc., to meet the needs of different application scenarios.

2. What are the common problems that may occur during the use of the IMX577 camera image sensor?

2.1 Noise problem

Problem description: When shooting in low-light environments, obvious granular noise may appear in the image, affecting the image quality.

Possible cause: The rise in sensor temperature leads to an increase in the intrinsic excitation of semiconductor materials and a decrease in the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N).

Solution suggestion: Perform noise reduction processing through software algorithms, or optimize the sensor working environment, such as adding heat dissipation measures.

2.2 Color distortion

Problem description: The color of the captured image does not match the real scene, and color cast occurs.

Possible cause: Improper white balance setting, sensor color filter array (CFA) defects, or data processing algorithm problems.

Solution suggestion: Adjust the white balance setting, check and replace the defective CFA, or optimize the image processing algorithm.

2.3 Underexposure/overexposure

Problem description: The image is dark or too bright overall, and details are lost.

Possible cause: Improper exposure parameter setting, HDR function is not enabled or adjusted correctly.

Solution suggestion: Adjust the exposure parameters according to the shooting environment, ensure that the HDR function is enabled correctly and adjust it as needed.

2.4 Image blur

Problem description: The edges of the captured image are unclear and details are lost.

Possible cause: Lens problem (such as lens contamination, inaccurate focus), insufficient sensor resolution, or image processing algorithm problem.

Solution suggestions: Clean the lens, adjust the focus settings, or consider replacing a higher resolution sensor. At the same time, check and optimize the image processing algorithm to improve image clarity.

2.5 HDR mode problem

Problem description: When shooting in HDR mode, the image has problems such as alternating light and dark and uneven colors.

Possible reasons: HDR configuration error, long and short frame image fusion algorithm problem, or the sensor itself does not support HDR mode.

Solution suggestions: Adjust the configuration parameters according to the HDR support of IMX577 to ensure that long and short frame images are correctly captured and fused. At the same time, check whether the sensor supports HDR mode and refer to the official documentation for configuration.

3. How to prevent problems with the IMX577 camera image sensor?

Regular inspection and maintenance: Regularly check the status of the sensor and lens, and clean and replace damaged parts in time.

Reasonable parameter setting: Reasonably set parameters such as exposure and white balance according to the shooting environment and needs.

Optimize the working environment: Keep the sensor working environment stable to avoid the impact of excessively high or low temperatures on sensor performance.

Follow the instructions for use: Strictly follow the instructions for use of the camera and sensor for operation and maintenance.
